“Nothing ever happens until you sell others on the idea of change.” Selling is a soft skill that belongs in the BA’s repertoire of capability. It addresses a real need. It’s about connecting with people through both their emotions and their requirements to address the fact of and need for change. This presentation provides a 6 step approach to preparing for, recommending and following up on change. See http://www.businessanalystworld.com/calgary/program-sessions.html for details.

Integritas Solutions Inc.’s Leadership and Professional Development Practice is designed to improve skills in communication, consulting and leadership. We assume that you have tremendous practical technical skills as a PM, BA, QA or other IT professional. Our goal is to provide IT professionals with the skills to become trusted leaders and advisors within their organization. This includes any professional who interacts with business owners, project stakeholders, senior management, end users, vendors and team members.

Once internal professionals were only expected to be knowledgeable in their area of expertise and to make recommendations about technical or professional issues. Today IT and other professionals working inside organizations are being asked to link their expertise more directly to organization results. As a consequence, IT professionals of all stripes and levels are expected by their managers, as well as their clients, to be effective change agents and value-adding Business Partners.

Integritas provides customized development programs designed to improve the abilities of IT professionals in the areas of project leadership, internal consulting, interpersonal skills, management of change, conflict resolution and many other requisite skills. We also provide a unique service of team-based or one-on-one coaching to IT professionals designed to meet the specific needs of your organization.

Our Leadership and Professional Development Practice leverages two key tools to deliver our services:

360 Profile Assessments - which assist individuals in identifying personal and professional goals and developing action plans through understanding their strengths and areas of improvement.

Powerful Professionals© Training Program - which prepares professionals to deliver their expertise more effectively through workshops, team and personal coaching, and follow-up focused training in soft skill areas that most benefit the client.

At the core of the Powerful Professionals Training Program is a 2-day highly interactive workshop that provides significant value in and of itself. The content of the workshop has been built and modified over time based on data and input received from the over 60,000 professionals who have been involved in Powerful Professionals as participants or 360 respondents. The workshop uses engaging presentations, group discussions and experiential-based practice sessions to ensure that the learning is directly applicable to the participants’ IT professional experience.

Activities include:

How to use an effective 5 stage consulting process;

How to clarify expectations and roles;

How to ask effective questions;

How to sort out complex situations; and,

How to sell ideas and gain commitment

This workshop benefits IT professionals and their organizations in

1) Developing more client oriented professionals and teams;

2) Supporting professionals in expanded, value adding roles; and

3) Enhancing collaboration with clients, colleagues and managers.

We offer Powerful Professionals both dedicated and public formats. To view our public course schedule go to Training page. For more information on our dedicated courses or to book a course, please Contact Us.

Integritas presented a session on IT Governance at the joint ITSMF USA/HDI Fusion National Conference in September 2011. The presentation, which was delivered by Glenn LeClair, Training Practice Principal at Integritas Solutions, was a study in Governance and the key aspects of success and failure.

The theme of the presentation was the experience of:

“Two large, bureaucratic organizations with competing mandates and a shared deliverable, managing the most complex technology that existed at the time.”

The governance structures of the US Army and Navy were unprepared for the attack by the Japanese Navy on Dec 7, 1941.

This presentation relates current IT governance to the events that led up to this day.

This screen presents the main area where you can write and edit Posts in WordPress. The main components of a WordPress Post are the title, the body or content, and the Categories. For an explanation of Categories in WordPress watch the WordPress Apprentice’s video entitled WordPress Categories Explained. While you write your Post in WordPress you have access to the various editing options available in the menu bar above the content window – refer to the red circle in the about diagram. These are the typical editing options you would like bold, italics, lists, justification, etc.

Now that you have created your Post, and you are ready to publish it for the world to see, there are a couple of things that you need to check. First thing to check is make sure that you have selected the appropriate category or categories for you Post. Depending on how you WordPress site is configure posts with specific categories may appear on different areas of your website. For example, you may have a New category that appears within the Latest News section of your website, versus you may have a page on your website that only lists Training Posts that you have published.

The next thing to check is the Post’s URL or "Permalink" as indicated in the about picture – refer to red circle. Generally, the Permalink is automatically created from the Post title; however, if you have a very long title for your Post you may not want to use it as the Permalink – or URL – for the Post. You have the option to Edit the Permalink and create a shorter or more memorable link; however, you must remember that this Permalink must be unique from any other Posts you have written and published.

Once you are satisfied with your Post now it’s time to publish. Select the blue Publish button as indicated on the picture above. You Post will now appear on your website and will be publicly viewable.
